A robust unit designed for on-board deployment which is used to control the system’s audio and visual output supporting Digital Voice Announcements (DVA), Long Line Public Address (LLPA) and Passenger Information Display. The units connect directly to a 100 Base T Ethernet network, communicate via TCP⁄IP with the Train Communications Exchange and may be configured remotely.

In order to provide audio support the NetSpire™ SGUs and MGUs decode LLPA and DVA announcements and provide multiple balanced audio outputs to amplifiers and speakers. The units are also available with embedded high quality amplifiers. In addition, the units can act as the interface point for InfoPoints which supply passenger information upon button press or automatically based on triggers and schedules.

LED Displays and Clock support is provided via serial ports – multiple LED displays can be daisy chained from a single MGU or SGU serial port and controlled individually via unique hardware addressing. Supplementary supporting modules can be included in order to support LCD ⁄ Plasma output.
